Korean made Visible & Approachable
Korean Lessons for Beginners
Please guide a good website for me to learn Korean alphabet and romanization. I haven't learn it yet. So, in order to learn from this very good lesson, I want to know Korean alphabet and romanization.
Hey! There are a lot of resources to learn how to read Hangul, but the best tip I can give you is to skip the romanization altogether. Or at least it's what I did. There really aren't a lot English letters that equate to Hangul letters. For example, the letter that usually makes a "b" sound can make a "p" and a "m" depending on its usuage. I think Hangul tells you how to form your mouth, not neccessarily the sound that comes out. ((I previously learned American Sign Language from some Deaf people, and there I also learned that "mama, papa, and baby" each require the same movement of your mouth.(((Which makes lip reading trickier than a lot of people believe.)))))
To help me to learn letters to a language with words I didn't know, I practiced with "Korean lessons 101"(on Youtube) and on my own, I tried to write English words in Hangul. I don't know if it's the best method, but I picked up on it quicker. Maybe it was just because I wasn't trying to learn two things at once? Not sure, but good luck with everything!
My recommendation is to try
1. this series first for Korean alphabet http://www.busyatom.com/node/2911/korean-alphabet
2. and then check out http://www.talktomeinkorean.com/ for further systematic Korean study.

hello, i've followed all your lessons for these two chapters already. are you going to do more lessons? please do more, i really wanna learn some more. thank you! :)
Anyeong-haseyo, this is a very useful website you have here! I've just started learning Korean here in Malaysia, at a school called Learn Korean. Looking forward to learning more!
Ahjussi, Kamshamnida. I've listened to all of your lessons and have learned alot. You are an excellent teacher. Your explanations are very thorough and I enjoy your humour as well. I have also been listening to some of the videos with Korean phrases and those are also helpful. If you are planning to make anymore, I would love to see more examples with conjugating verbs, especially common verbs like 'to have'. I would also like to see some conversational sentences that I could use to talk about the family, children, etc. Finally, I would like examples of sentences with the words 'and', 'if', 'or', 'but' and so on. The reason I am learning Korean is because my son's best friend at school is Korean and his family speaks little to no English. They are living in my country, Jamaica. Now, perhaps I can talk with them a little. Thank You.

thank you sooo much , really this web sit help me alots keep it up ^_^
I want to thank you for such an awesome webpage and lessons. I dont know how you do it, but you somehow make a boring, and dull educational power point presentation entertaining (that is very impressive as I have A.D.D.) I have tried for years to learn a second language but always get bored and cant stay with it. The grammer lessons you teach here are very good and help a lot.I have found a series on youtube called "KWOW" (korean word of the week), and it teaches alot of useful common words/phrases and how to use them. This site's grammer lessons and KWOW is a very good combination. Is there a way to donate through paypal or some other way?thank you again for all you have done, you deserve a trophy :)
busyatom, please post a link of the koreanlecture website because i cannot seem to get to the correct website by typing out www.koreanlecture.com. So please post a link to the website because it would help me so much.
Thank you! you're an awesome teacher:D
